In this research study, 218 adult women and men were analyzed with BMI’s running the gamut from 22% to 28% over a course of two years. One of those groups was requested to restrict their daily calories by 25%, and the people in the other group were not asked to adjust their eating and dieting behavior at all.

Self-reporting questionnaires were given to participants to determine their quality of mood, sleep, sexual function and life over the course of the two-year period.

Researchers identified that those participating in the calorie restriction group experienced only positive impacts on their overall health over the entire period.
